The choir’s first outing of the season is a charity fund-raiser at Ormiston Parish Church (near Tranent) on Wednesday 18th October at 7:30 p.m.
Our public Christmas events for 2017 will be on Wednesday 13th December 7:30 p.m. at Morningside Parish Church, and a similar programme the following evening, 14th December in Greyfriars Kirk. These are community events, with sing-along carols and choir performance pieces in company with our accompanists Nicky Fraser and Marion McPherson.
Proceeds are for charity; for Morningside there are no tickets and a retiring collection is invited. The Greyfriars concert is a fund-raiser organised by the charity Feed the Minds; tickets are £5 (plus booking fee) available online from www.edinburghcarols.eventbrite.com or by phone from 020-3752-5802.
Our main Spring concert (the choir’s 71st) will run on three nights in the Church Hill Theatre: 9-11 May 2018, at 7:30 p.m. Its well-established format continues to be popular with our audiences: a varied selection of well-known (and a few less known) numbers around a theme.
This year’s is titled ‘Night and Day’ and will feature musical numbers to whisk you through 24 hours in a little over two. We shall be joined by the same popular guest performers as in recent years: KS Dance Academy, and Broxburn & Livingston Brass Band.
